Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your CatholicVerse account and exactly what happens to your data when you do. It applies to the CatholicVerse app published by Alejandro Moreno Lopez.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself from the app

This is the fastest way and it takes effect immediately.

1. Open CatholicVerse on your phone.
2. Tap Profile in the bottom navigation bar.
3. Scroll down and tap Delete account.
4. Confirm when you are asked to. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it for you

If you can no longer sign in, or you would rather we did it, write to us at catholicverse@getcatholicverse.com from the email address your account uses, with the subject "Delete my account".

We confirm the request and complete the deletion within 30 days, and we write back to tell you when it is done.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, all of the following is permanently removed from our servers:

• Your account itself: name, email address and sign-in credentials.
• Your personal reflections and written notes.
• Your highlights and saved favourite verses.
• Your reading progress, reading history and streaks.

This deletion is permanent. None of it can be recovered afterwards, by you or by us.

What is kept, and for how long

• Subscription and payment records. Your subscription is managed by Apple and Google, not by us, and we never hold your card details. We keep the minimum transaction record that tax and accounting law obliges us to keep, for the period that law requires, and no longer.
• Encrypted backups. Deleted data may still exist inside encrypted server backups for up to 30 days, after which those backups are overwritten and the data is gone.
• Anonymous data. Aggregate figures that cannot identify you or be linked back to you may be kept.
